Algonquin College, like most colleges, relies heavily on Part-Time Support workers to keep our classrooms and campuses working. This #PartTimePower ensures that academic faculty keep their focus on education. From IT support, through the food workers who keep us fuelled, to the plumbing and electrical workers who keep the water running and lights on, to those working in Connections, we rely on them all. Throughout the college system, there are 15,000 Part-Time Support workers who deserve more than the bare minimum from their employer.
Part-Time Support workers entered bargaining for their Collective Agreement last month, in February. They will be sharing information and bringing awareness of their situation at each of the campuses:
- Ottawa Campus: Wednesday, March 27 from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., in the J Link Bridge
- Pembroke Campus: Wednesday, March 27 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., in room 200
- Perth Campus: Tuesday, March 26 from 12 – 2 p.m., Perth Boardroom
Colleges run on #PartTimePower – ALL workers need to be treated fairly.
Please join our Support Workers in raising awareness on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wear something blue to show support.
