Our Local demand-set meeting is just over 1 month away. Here is another issue to start thinking about.

Did you know that our current Collective Agreement does not include a sunset provision? A sunset clause allows letters of discipline to be removed from an employee’s personnel file after time has passed. It is common for collective agreements to include language about such matters. Such a provision allows employees to not have discipline remain on their file indefinitely, without the need to file a grievance.

Discipline grievances take up space in the queue. By including a sunset provision, grievance time and resources can be spent on other matters.

Please note, if you are not able to participate either in person or online, you can present a proposal in writing to be considered by the membership in attendance at the meeting.

Please watch your e-mail for more updates and details, including upcoming surveys about workload and working conditions.

In solidarity,
