By now, you are likely aware of the news story reported by CBC Ottawa about OPSEU and our Local 415.

As educators and labour activists, we are committed to ending behaviours rooted in injustice and discrimination. We condemn sexism, anti-Black racism and oppression in all forms. There is no place for these behaviours in our society, in our college, or in our union.

These behaviors have shaken us. Through real, tangible actions – not performative words – we have started the healing process. Our Local is already in a stronger place than we were a year ago.

To anyone experiencing harassment or discrimination, know that you are not alone. Local 415 is here to support you. We believe and stand with you.

In solidarity,
