We are all encouraged at the news that bargaining resumed today. It remains our hope that a deal will be reached at the table.
In the event that no deal is reached, as of 12:01 AM Friday, March 18, all members of OPSEU Local 415 will be on strike. This is a full withdrawal of our labour. When on strike, we cannot use the college networks, including e-mail and Brightspace, nor enter college property. If you have not already done so, it is the Local’s advice that all course materials for future dates be removed/hidden from your Brightspace page.
Here are some reminders:
- The Local is holding a Strike Preparation and Information Meeting tonight from 7 – 8 PM. Pre-registration is required at this link.
- Our first strike event is a rally at the Woodroffe campus (with live feed for Perth and Pembroke) on Friday, beginning at 11 AM. Our rally will take place whether or not a deal is reached. We ask that you bring two items for the Algonquin College SA Food Cupboard.
- Please see our earlier announcement for instructions on how to collect strike pay and sign-up for picket duties. For those experiencing issues with the OPSEU central portal, please contact MemberPortal@opseu.org for assistance.
- For any other questions, please reach out to the Local at comms@locallines.org.
We look forward to seeing you at this evening’s meeting.
