As another calendar year draws to a close, we want to acknowledge the resilience of our members. Faculty have worked through this ever-changing landscape with strength and dignity, while continuing to prioritize quality education. Your commitment to our profession continues to be a critical factor in student success.

You will be pleased to know that, despite many challenges, Local 415 has accomplished a lot this year. We are resolving disputes at an exponentially faster rate than before. This has led to many gains for our members in 2021 and beyond, including the creation of new full-time faculty positions above our existing complement. We have steadfastly held the college to account and continue to challenge it to do better.

We also want to acknowledge how difficult this round of bargaining has been. The modest improvements we seek on core issues like workload, job security and equity must be addressed. It is our hope that our employer returns to the table. The union has always felt that is where a settlement ought to be reached.

We thank you all for your continued trust in our local leadership and the mandate you have given this team. We wish you the peace of the season and a restful winter break.

In solidarity,

Your Local 415 Leadership Team
