Return to Campus/Health and Safety

While many colleges have once again moved as many courses as possible online for the start of Winter semester, there are a number of courses–such as labs and shops–that will continue to be face-to-face.  Many colleges are planning to run these classes with NO physical distancing or capacity limit measures in place, despite the increased transmission risk due to the Omicron variant.  We would like to remind members that you have the right to refuse unsafe work.  Please ask your college what they are doing to ensure the safety of faculty and students in these spaces, and know that you have the right to contact the Ministry of Labour or the local public health unit to inspect these instructional spaces.

We wish everyone a restful winter break, and appreciate your continued support and solidarity.

JP, Jonathan, Katie, Michelle, Ravi, Rebecca, Shawn
